I created an underwater cartoon scene using Pixlr.
I started with a plain background and filled the main sea color. I added a few dark sand swatches using the paint brush tool. Then I imported an image of a seahorse with some plants and bubbles. This image had a white background that I used the magic wand tool and inverting selection to delete. I painted in additional sand using a variety of colors, opacity, scatter, and diffuse. I then copied the image and flipped it horizontally to get a second seahorse facing the opposite direction. I selected and copied some of the bubbles to help tie the scene together. I imported an image of a starfish, a sea turtle, and a worm on a hook. I utilized the magic wand tool to help me select aspects of the original images that I did not want to keep. Finally, I added an image of the bottom of a boat with a propeller. I used opacity to make it look like the boat was leaving. I also added text and drew a rectangular frame to put Gone Fishin' on the propeller housing.
